The Intuitive Way
As a new bodyworker back in 2003, I was introduced to many new age concepts and alternative healing modalities. For instance, the chakra system was new to me, and I became engrossed in it personally, and in my career as a massage therapist. As I began working within the energetic framework of the body on a daily basis, I began to notice metaphysical occurrences. I could ‘see’ turquoise orbs around the body I was working on at times. I could ‘sense’ certain foods that would be nourishing for my client. I would ‘smell’ certain essential oils that would be of benefit. I came to learn that I was experiencing my own gifts of the “clairs”: intuitive abilities corresponding to the physical senses used to perceive information beyond the five senses. Clairvoyant (sight), Claircognizant (knowing), Clairaudient (hearing), Clairgustant (smell/taste) and Clairsentient (feeling). This absolutely fascinated me because it gave me more information beyond what the physical body presented while doing healing work with my clients. The information was subtle, yet right there and it was always accurate. So much so, that I never questioned it. Through my in-depth reading and understanding, I was interpreting the energy field of someone else through the clairs/intuitively. This was my first foray into the world of working with intuition. These are examples and one of many reasons I believe honing this gift that we all have, is immensely important, and it’s not limited to bodyworkers and healers. It’s a natural ability I think we all have and can sharpen.
In 2011, I lived in St. Louis, MO and there was a new age store, Pathways, which was full of books, oddities, statues, and crystals, and offered many courses. The classes were varied and focused on astrology, crystal usage, energy work, psychic development and the like. Rev. Deborah Bourbon owned the store and was a renowned psychic and gifted teacher and spiritual advisor. I studied with her for a couple of years to understand the gifts that had been unlocked in my massage practice. I learned that the turquoise orbs I had been seeing were healing angels. I conducted several experiments that confirmed that they were indeed healing angels showing me where to massage or focus. And often it wasn’t where the client had any current issues or known ailments. Sometimes it was an old injury from childhood on a grown adult where energy was still trapped in the body and needing attention and healing. (This was an example of clairvoyance and claircognizance at work.) I learned a lot about myself and the wide world of the metaphysical under the mentorship of Deborah. Sadly, she passed away from cancer in 2013, but her teachings changed me and my life forever.
Since then I have worked with other professional mentors continuing my personal psychic development, including clairvoyance and remote viewing with esteemed psychic, the late Rexanna Ipock Brown and on mediumship skills with Rory Walkom of The Medium School. Many times during massage therapy sessions, I would “hear” a passed loved one giving me a message to share with the person on the table. This was exciting and also presented a dilemma. My client came in for back pain, not expecting to hear their deceased grandfather wants to say hello. However, I knew these messages were not coming from me, but through me. I also knew this was important work. Over time, I grew more comfortable sharing the messages, and every single time the person would tear up, thank me for sharing, and validate what I shared. Sometimes I see (clairvoyance) things for people from spirit. For example, a deceased uncle was imparting to me an image of four-leaf clovers hanging in his niece’s window, and I got a very clear picture in my mind of her home and where they were hanging. Later, she sent me the picture. It was exact.
I share these personal stories from my journey because a part of my purpose is to carry the torch of mentoring and teaching others. I’ve shared the tangibility of intuition manifesting outcomes. It’s never been more important to understand your intuitive gifts and use them. They’re needed now more than ever.
Currently, my teachings focus simply on intuition itself: Trusting the knowing that is already within you, and drowning out the voices that say, this “shouldn’t or couldn’t possibly” make sense. I am teaching how intuition shows up in the body, recognizing intuition vs. anxiety/fear and creating the right environment for your mind to notice the subtlety. I find this work deeply rewarding and just the tip of the iceberg.
Psychic development and mediumship are definitely ways that intuition can go much deeper, but for now, I am focusing on teaching the basics of intuition.
I am offering an intuition training to reconnect with your own personal energy and power to feel safe in the body. Creating the environment to hear, feel, and know when your intuition is talking.
I would be honored to walk you through this part of your journey if you feel called to explore it. It’s not spooky, or scary, or ghosty. It’s subtle and coexists with you all of the time. It’s neutral. It’s not overstimulating or loud, which makes it easily missed in our busy world and minds.
If you feel the nudge to explore your intuition, I would be grateful to be your guide.
I’ve included the link to my online training which begins early March. Please reach out if you’d like more information. I would love to connect!
Until next time.
